​The entire MCC San Antonio family would like to express our sincere, heartfelt condolences to our friend and colleague Deb Myers, Dignity San Antonio and the family of Nickie Valdez who entered eternal life on Christmas Day.
Nickie was a pioneer in the movement for equality for LGBTQ+ people in San Antonio as a co-founder of Dignity, a group that welcomes all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex Catholics, as well as anyone else wishing to attend.
Nickie was a tireless and dedicated advocate for our community and we are grateful for all that she has done for social justice and the rights of all our citizens.
She leaves a legacy of faith and a commitment to inclusion.
